Room 19 has a 5 foot bed with space under for a hoist and has a support arm to the left-hand side of the toilet.

Room 21 has a Zip-linked bed consisting of two 3 foot singles, these can be separated for twin use and have space underneath to take a hoist, and has a support arm to the left-hand side of the toilet.

All accessible rooms have an emergency phone to contact staff 24 hours a day should the need arise, pendants and or bracelets can be supplied for use in the shower only 'wet rooms'

All the accessible rooms have the usual facilities expected of a quality three star hotel, but all have shower only 'wet rooms' and no bath. The rooms are designed specifically for the able bodied as well as the physically challenged. They are located in a quiet corner of the hotel grounds, with designated car parking spaces and ramps to and from the main hotel situated some 80 yards away. Passive Infra-red lighting illuminates the pathway to and from the hotel.

As all the equipment is removable the rooms are normally set up without support arms and shower chairs etc. The shower room pictured above has ALL the available equipment. Please state when booking what equipment you require and any special requests and/or needs you may have, as no two guests needs are the same.

There is a bus stop right outside the hotel (Wilts and Dorset Bus Co) and Wareham train station that links with London (Waterloo) is just 4 miles away. Local accessible taxis can collect you by prior arrangement.

Please use the designated car parking spaces and call ahead for assistance on arrival with luggage if needed. There is an access ramp leading to the hotel to check-in or register your arrival. For wheelchair guests there is a specially lowered part of the reception desk for your comfort. If you arrive after the reception has closed an emergency telephone is adjacent to the front door and this will automatically call staff.

For visually impaired guests we can offer menus in larger print on request or can read these to you if you'd prefer. We have a ground floor plan to aid you movement around the hotel. We are happy to assist if you need any further help finding your way around. If you have a registered Guide / Assistance dog please advise us when making your booking. The hotel does not accept unregistered pets in any circumstances.

We have a hearing loop at reception but this is portable, if you have a hearing aid set it to T and let us know. The accessible bedrooms all have red strobe alarm lights to indicate a potential fire. In all cases of an alarm staff will be aware if the accessible rooms have activated this and will inform you quickly of any evacuation plan. If the main hotel has triggered the alarm it is likely you will be asked to stay in your bedrooms.

The hotel has wheelchair access throughout and accessible toilets on the ground floor, please be aware that these are entered via a flagstone floor which can be slippery when wet. A temporary ramp can be used in the Castle Room (small/private dining room) if required. Please acquaint yourselves with all the facilities and fire exits.

There are ramps and passive infra-red lighting leading to the accessible, Dacombe Rooms. Hand rails will aid you to gain access.

All these bedrooms have been specifically designed to be accessible to all, but as everyone's needs differ, furniture can be moved or replaced on request. Pleas view the pictures on this page to gain an idea of what you can expect and advise us if you have any concerns or special requests. We have various numbers of hire companies for equipment we don't stock.

Opposite the Dacombe rooms there is a walled garden with a ramp and an accessible table, if you'd like us to serve you a cream tea there or room service and enjoy the Dorset sun, please call reception between 10am-10pm.

The area around the Dacombe rooms has a reasonable mobile phone signal but this should not be relied upon.

After you stay we would welcome any feedback about your experiences, having spent so significantly on the facilities, improving our service remains a priority.
